So friends, this Google user has written this review about Vikings: Valhalla web series -
"Great show. Real historic Vikings are portrayed, in a not so historically true fashion but this is Hollywood. Action scenes were incredible. Had a mysticism vibe to it, while also confronting the the differences of pagan and Christians in the Viking world. The Union and bond of the characters I found fascinating.
I read thru all the bad reviews and it was people complaining about “wokeness” and “diversity” of melanated people portrayed in Europe. If that’s what’s going you upset you just say you’re a… well you know the word. I personally loved the diversity aspect.
If it’s historically accurate, no, maybe? However, it added to this shows mystical vibe. I think diversity in film is needed, and if you can’t adapt to the new age well, fairewell to you. May oden or Jesus show you the way.
On the pagan and Christianity aspect, I enjoyed learning about Christian Vikings, which I never knew was a thing until this show. I loved the diversity of paganism and Christianity that was put into this show, on top of the “few” scenes we saw of people that aren’t just Anglo Saxon, but African, Asian, and as a Russian I saw an Asian women speak Russian meaning probably Kazakhstan or a close relative to that nation.
In conclusion, it seems as if all the bad reviews came from people who are anti “woke” and anti diversity. I know the type, we know you guys by name. Maybe you Viking Saxon European warriors don’t know history too well.
As a Eastern European I was surprised to see black people speaking Russian in both Kazakhstan and Russia when I visited. Perfect Russian actually. Anyways I’ll call most the one star review racist, and in line with boomer talk. Also this show is seriously not “woke” in one bit. It’s Hollywood, if you think this was woke, you’ve been watching some boring stuff in your life."
