If we talks about the story of the film Gehraiyaan then the film follows a girl name Alisha Khanna (Deepika Padukone) who is a yoga teacher and she has worked hard on an App but she is not able to get investor for her App.
Also Alisha is living with her unemployed boyfriend Karan (Dhairya Karwa) who is a writer and now she feels suffocated there. She is also suffering from anxiety because her mother committed suicide when she was a child.
Alisha has a cousin Tia Khanna (Ananya Panday) and she recently engaged with Zain Siddiqui (Siddhanth Chaturvedi) and she invited Alisha and her boyfriend to celebrate their engagement ceremony at Alibaug beach house.
When Alisha meets to Zain then she shocked because she has a past relationship with him and he is now engaged with her cousin. But Zain started flirting with Alisha and then both started flirting each other.

I was sceptical about this movie, however, it turned out to be a pretty great movie. Yes, not just good, great!
While watching the movie with my friends, we kept on getting into small discussions about the motives, behaviour, mentality, the situations created, etc. About relationships, adultly, love, etc, and It made me realise that this only happens when a movie is engaging, making you think, and effectively achieve what its suppose to!
The screenplay is amazing, it doesn't go into exposition and shows the emotions, implications, and things happening in the background through dialogues and subtle visual queues.
The acting and direction is great. Every single actor has done a great job. Ananya Pandey was just brilliant. Deepika was at the top of her game as usual.
The story is way more deeper and darker than people might have anticipated. There are several unexpected directions the story and the characters go into which was delightful to watch.

"Let me start off by giving you a heads-up that this movie is not the kind you usually see being played by mainstream actors like Deepika, Ananya etc. Because of that reason, many might hold high expectations from it.
But as you must've inferred from the trailer itself, the movie basically revolves around illicit affairs, infidelity and duplicity. It is a psychologically heavy movie with an abrupt turn of events so id suggest you to not assume too much from it as different people have different ways of fathoming and dealing with such topics.
Coming back to my personal view about the whole story, i commend the fact that they managed to portray the issue of unfaithfulness so precisely especially during times like these where its very common and prevalent. Everyone did a phenomenal job with regard to acting, emotions and dialogue delivery.
I highly acknowledge Ananya Pandey's performace which is quite evident on how much it has improved. However, the ending was obscure and rushed and i'd prefer it to be different and it could've been better. Nevertheless, an exemplary attempt at depicting all the new age issues.
I hope people take this subject seriously and please dont just criticize it because of the nature of the movie. It focuses on something that is very real and raw so try to understand it and overall enjoy the performance."
