"The film was very good, I have played the RE franchise since the beginning and felt, though this adaptation was not verbatim, it definitely had the feel of the original RE style of game play. Less focused on all the action packed BS and more back to the true HORROR that is RE.
Some ppl seem upset about the backstories or character personalities but what the producers and director have done is made room for what will be well thought-out character development down the line in this new series of films.
Jill and Leon were not casted to look like their game characters which fit well for me because It gave us a bit more diversity in the cast. Also to touch note on what some ppl seem to be bothered by is that Leon wasn’t the super soldier they thought of him, I feel most are forgetting that what happened in Raccoon City(RC) is what helped him rise to the top.
He wasn’t an A-1 police officer from the start. He developed into that character through the events that occurred in RC and this is what I believe the director and producers are planning for the future.
Overall, the film was great, enough nostalgic scenes, good acting, and great horror scenes. When you’ve seen so many zombie movies/shows it can get mundane but this film was far from that.
I watch movies ritually and was certainly able to appreciate this film far greater than the first adaptation (I did love Mila J tho) and without ridiculous expectations. I wasn’t there to watch the game I played growing up, I was there to watch an adaptation which promised to follow alongside the original games, and as far as I can tell they hit the nail on the head.
Remember you’re watching an adaptation, somethings can’t stay perfectly the same or it won’t make sense or you lose something out of it. Like being able to relate to characters or even notice character development down the line.
Anyways the film was great and I can’t wait for the next one hope you enjoy it too!"
So guys If you wanted to watch a new horror, science fiction movie of Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen or Robbie Amell then don't waste your time go and watch this movie on your nearly theater.
