The Last Thing He Wanted 2020 फिल्म की कहानी एक Journalist के इर्द गिर्द घूमती है जो अपने मरते पिता को बचाने के लिए 1984 के अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति चुनाव के अपने सारे कवरेज को रोक देती है। इस प्रक्रिया में वह अपने पिता के काम को अंजाम देने की कोशिश में वह Central America के लिए एक हथियार डीलिंग का काम शुरू करती है जो कि उसे उसके पिता का काम था लेकिन धीरे धीरे उसे इस काम से Iran–Contra affair के बारे में जानकारी मिलना शुरू हो जाता है।
